The Rakiura Community Trap Library is open…………. Help protect the bush and birds in your backyard
Operated on a voluntary basis, traps are free to loan. We can provide tips and tricks to get you started or perhaps introduce you to a new type of trap. We would love to widen the scope and help you have access to a trap if you don’t have one or maybe try a new one.
We have a range of traps and bait stations. We also have cage traps for live feral cat capture. All have been well tested and have ethical approval for use.
We do not advocate the use of leg hold traps (due to the risk to native wildlife) therefore these are not available.
